In a move that is the first of its kind in professional sports, Rugby Club Football and RCF Inc. have begun the process to register names, logotypes and trademarks for professional rugby teams in Europe, South America and the Pacific Rim.
It is the master plan of RCF Inc. to have 16 teams formed in Europe, with 6 teams in the British Isles and 10 teams on the continent, including Russia. Plans also call for 16 teams in the Pacific Rim area with 4 teams in Australia, 4 teams in New Zealand and 8 teams in Japan, China, Philippines and South Africa, as well as 8 teams in South America.
All these teams will play a full schedule in their respective area leading to a world rugby playoff which will include the United States winner. The four winning area teams will compete for the world championship of Rugby Club Football.
As in the United States, a percentage of all the revenues will be divided equally among the players, the participating rugby unions and the franchise owners. Could this be what Rupert Murdoch has been looking for?
