Formed in 1996 and named in honor of a local rugby hero noted for his punishing running skills, Frank "Ski" Borkowski,
the Balskis have always played up to their name.
All the players are intense ball hawks and have the speed to run to the gaps, leaving opponents standing hopelessly out
of the play. If you are to beat them, you have to keep the ball away from their back line.
The Balski scrum is trained by Australian coach, Thomas "Cutter" Normann, to capture the ball and get it out quickly. One of the key players
to this rapid fire attack is scrum-half Rick "Snake" Mobley, a graduate of Dartmouth (where he learned to play the game) and who returned to
Georgia to be a stockbroker.
Though short, he has a very strong upper body matched with extremely quick movements when in control of the ball. Many a wing has had him
in his sights only to grab air and eat dirt.
During the 2004 season, the Balskis posted a 8-7 record to finish second in the Eastern Section, including two
victories over the section winner, the New York Guloots.
